Radcliffe & Maconie’s weekend breakfast show on BBC 6 Music featured singer Katy J Pearson and actor Lesley Mackie, as they marked the 50th birthday of legendary British folk-horror film, The Wicker Man.

Singer-songwriter Katy (with guitarist Campbell Baum) performed a beautiful live session, playing tracks from the film’s classic soundtrack and her own Wicker Man EP.

Mark and Stuart also talked to actor Lesley Mackie, who appeared in the film in the role of Daisy. The Wicker Man was released in December 1973 and starred Edward Woodward, Britt Ekland and Christopher Lee. Lesley shared her memories of working on what has become an influential classic.

Mark Radcliffe & Stuart Maconie are a much-loved pairing of music obsessives, quick-witted observers of popular culture and Decorated Radio Professionals. On Saturday and Sunday mornings (0800-1000 GMT, 6 Music) they welcome all comers with an antidote to modern malaise: insightful interviews, occasional nonsense, and the best alternative music from then and now.

7digital produced Mark Radcliffe’s Radio 2 evening show before launching Radcliffe & Maconie in 2007. The award-winning show moved to 6 Music in 2011.
