Delivering Christmas Day on BBC Radio 5 Live

7digital have produced the mid-morning show on BBC Radio 5 Live for Christmas Day 2023. Naga Munchetty presents a light-hearted guide to an easier Christmas.

Whether you’re seeing too few people or too many, wondering about how to recycle waste or manage unwanted gifts, Christmas can throw up dilemmas, big and small.

To help her navigate the day, Naga is joined by etiquette coach William Hanson, celebrity chef Atul Kochhar, TV critic Scott Bryan, environmental expert Less Waste Laura, family therapist Hannah Sherbersky and mindful walking writer Adam Ford.

Poet Lemn Sissay talks about serving meals to young care leavers via his project, The Christmas Dinner.

QI Elf Alex Bell shares some Christmas facts, and we talk about music with Amy Lamé and folk singer Kate Rusby.

We’ll question the rules and etiquette of Christmas and find out how to make it all a bit easier. What should you take if you’re visiting a friend or relative? Do you need to dress up? Is it ever okay to lie? When is it acceptable to ask guests to leave? Naga will also meet two people so fond of the festivities that they go by the names ‘Mr Christmas’ and ‘Mrs Christmas’.
