7digital will continue producing BBC Radio 2’s Pick Of The Pops when new presenter Mark Goodier takes over on 6th July 2024.

Mark - a familiar favourite on UK radio with a long history of presenting chart shows - will be the first permanent presenter since the sad and sudden passing of Steve Wright in February.

It’s an honour to host the iconic Pick of the Pops, although I wish it were in happier circumstances as I was friends with Steve for almost 40 years. I can’t wait to reminisce with Radio 2 listeners as we revisit two years in their lives, playing some of the best records ever made.
— Mark Goodier

Every Saturday, Pick Of The Pops entertains 2.5 million listeners by revisiting the UK singles chart from that day in two historic years. Mark’s debut episode will feature the charts from 6th July 1986 and 1998.

Listeners can share their memories from the time, as Mark delivers a two-hour dose of pop nostalgia, complete with refreshed audio branding.

Pick of the Pops debuted on BBC radio in 1955. The current format launched on Radio 2 in 1997 and his been presented by Alan Freeman, Dale Winton, Tony Blackburn, Paul Gambaccini and the late Steve Wright.

Mark Goodier has been a popular voice on UK radio since 1987, including many years hosting chart shows for BBC Radio 1, Real Radio, Classic FM and more.
